Start your future with BorgWarner now!To perform the manufacturing engineering function for special projects, production lines, cost reduction, and continuous improvement thru analytical approach. Develops and implements assembly line improvements & process controls, while following required safety and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to processes, methods and controls and product design. Ensure safe working practices are designed into all processes. Interacts with all levels of the organization as a team to produce and be accountable for desired results.Develop, implement, & document assembly line improvementsIndustrial, large component assembly experience is a plusLeads all changes building in long term safe working practices.Works with equipment vendors to develop & implement equipment improvementsDevelop, implement and documents effective cost reductions on time.Specifies and executes machine purchases including verification of machine quality, performance and effect on process.Interacts effectively with all levels of the organization, frequently participating on or leading cross functional teams.Works as part of cross functional group for new program launches, cost improvement activitiesWorks within design procedures of ISO and Quality SystemsParticipates in customer project reviewsWillingness to travel to equipment vendor locationMaintains project status reports for schedulingAssures adherence to standard manufacturing practicesUnderstands and adheres to current quality and control policies.Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies.Communicates and enforces safe work procedures.Identifies and closes safety issues (suggestions, inspection and investigation findings) and their corrective actions.Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.This position requires a BS degree in an Engineering discipline5+ years of experience is required (non automotive)Vision system programming experience requiredDC electric torque systems experience is requiredLeak testing experience is preferredUnderstanding of lean principles with demonstrated application is requiredUnderstanding of the APQP process with demonstrated application is requiredExperience with high speed balancing of flexible rotors is a plusWorking knowledge of SAP system is a plusExperience with Allen Bradley PLC programming is a plusProficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.Minimum 2 years of experience managing large capital equipment projects within deadlines is requiredDemonstrated experience with new project costing, involvement in financial analysis is requiredStrong written and verbal communication skills are required.Inclusion: Respecting individualsIntegrity: Honoring truthExcellence: Focusing on resultsResponsibility: Our commitmentCollaboration: Building trustThis position will adhere to the BorgWarner Environmental Health and Safety Program by following all safety rules, procedures, practices, training, and safe use of equipment; this includes use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
