Maintenance Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Michigan City, 502 West Highway 20, Michigan City, Indiana, United States of America Job Description The Maintenance Supervisor – 3rd Shift (Hours: Roughly 8:45pm – 5:45am) will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within our food manufacturing plant. This role requires a strong leader with excellent technical skills, the ability to manage a team, and a commitment to ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency. Core Responsibilities Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians in performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on production equipment and machinery. Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure minimal downtime and efficient production processes. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escape escalation. Train and develop maintenance staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and skill enhancement. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history and spare parts inventory. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a secure work environment. Collaborate with the procurement department to source and purchase necessary spare parts and supplies. Provide a comprehensive shift handoff to the oncoming shift and the maintenance management team, both orally and in writing on a daily basis at the end of each shift. Include issues throughout the shift, status, and expected timeline to return to production. Identify potential cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities and provide suggestions to improve methods and processes. Qualifications 2+ years of Maintenance leadership experience required At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Experience working with vendors – setting up and managing in‑plant Depth of knowledge in electrical and mechanical CMMS experience needed SAP experience or other large ERP experience preferred Project management skillset is a benefit Strong personal safety experience Strong technical skills and knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery and knowledge/understanding of PLC’s Excellent leadership and team management abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Food manufacturing experience is a big plus, but not required Maker's Pride is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
