Senior Software Engineer - Weapons Planning

Responsibilities — What you’ll do: Play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and demonstrating feature-rich applications and R&D projects Work on the Next-Generation Open Mission Planning System for the DoW Articulate the long-term vision for projects and translate it into detailed features and feasible software designs Develop the architectural runway necessary for large solutions Learn emerging technologies and programming tools to keep you and your team as well equipped as possible Required Qualifications — We need someone who: Has a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field and 15 years of experience Has background in developing mission planning applications for the DoW Actively programs with one or more of the following languages: C#, Java, JavaScript, or Typescript Has experience using Web frameworks such as React, Node.js, Vue.js, Next.js, ASP.NET, or Angular Demonstrates strong fundamental skills in software design and development and the ability to coordinate the team’s workflow Engages with teammates, both virtually and face-to-face, to plan projects, seek out or provide help on issues, as well as present solutions to clients Manages time well and can prioritize a team's tasks to ensure projects are completed on time Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation Preferred Qualifications — It’s even better if you: Have experience developing containerized microservices in a Kubernetes environment Have examples of code or applications you’ve built that we can check out Are proficient with multiple IDEs, Languages, or Frameworks Have a background taking an entire development through launch Can demonstrate proficiency with AI-Assisted software development workflows Received one or more Scrum, Microsoft, Google Developer certifications or any other technical certifications Benefits — What we do for you: Flexible work hours Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage, including STD, LTD, and AD&D Generous paid time off, floating holidays, and standard holidays 401K savings plan with company-matching contributions up to 4% Educational and growth opportunities Tuition reimbursement Student loan repayment Certification reimbursement + bonuses and Learning Platform Subscriptions Catered tech talk lunches on topics picked by you and your teammates Sponsored community and volunteer events, giving back to our community Monthly office social events; game night, cook outs and office parties Standard HR Disclaimer: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, genetic information, ancestry, marital status, protected veteran status, disability status or any other status protected by federal, state or local laws.
