Family Medicine Physician, Associate Program Director of Clinical Affairs (Providence Medical Group - Alaska)

Providence is seeking a board-certified Family Medicine physician for a faculty position in a large, innovative Family Medicine residency program in Anchorage, Alaska.

The Alaska Family Medicine Residency (AKFMR) offers a rigorous curriculum to prepare residents for full-scope Family Medicine, with an emphasis on rural and underserved communities. Most training occurs in Anchorage, Alaska caring for a diverse, underserved urban population. The patients in clinic speak>90 languages. All residents spend time in remote rural Alaska, working in small communities off the road system. The program's graduates currently work in all settings including outpatient, ER, OB, inpatient adult & peds, ICU, and fellowships.

As an integral member of the AKFMR faculty, you will be in an advisory role to residents while also taking part in clinical duties such as precepting residents in clinic, direct patient care, outpatient prenatal and pediatric care supervision, inpatient care and more. Position Details:

• Full-time Faculty position working directly with Family Medicine residents
• Mix of faculty responsibilities: outpatient clinical work, optional inpatient care and optional inpatient OB (including operative OB if interested)
• Unique opportunities to get involved with Summer and Winter Wilderness Medicine, Transcultural & Community Medicine, the Alaska Addiction Medicine Fellowship and the Alaska Psychology Internship Consortium

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive compensation and benefits
• 264 hours of PTO annually
• $5,000 and 80 hours for CME annually
• $25,000 for relocation support

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Board-certified Family Medicine Physician
• Strong background or interest in academic Primary Care preferred
• Experience/interest in conducting and publishing research is a plus
• Prior teaching/precepting experience preferred
• Full-spectrum Family Medicine preferred, however not required
• AKFMR has Osteopathic Recognition; D.O. candidates with an interest in OMT is a plus
