About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for its Department of Occupational Therapy. This leadership role is pivotal in the development and advancement of the department, with a strong focus on educating clinical scholars and promoting excellence in occupational therapy and occupational science. The successful candidate will be both an academic leader and an administrator, responsible for shaping the program's future, maintaining an active academic role, and fostering a culture of inquiry. Key responsibilities include strategic leadership in curriculum innovation, faculty recruitment and mentorship, student admissions, accreditation compliance, and resource and budget management. The Chair will also be expected to cultivate a positive departmental climate, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to the professional and academic community. Applicants for the Chair position should hold a terminal degree in occupational therapy or a related field, with a strong record of scholarship, teaching, and professional service. A background in clinical practice and a commitment to community engagement are essential. The role requires a candidate with a vision for the future of the profession, the ability to lead and inspire faculty and students, and a dedication to the values of the department and the university. Experience in academic administration, a clear understanding of tenure and promotion standards, and a proven track record in fostering diversity and inclusion are highly desirable. The Chair will be expected to work closely with the Dean and other stakeholders to ensure the department's success and to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
