Hotel Housekeeper Job Description Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Hotel Housekeeper to maintain clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas. The successful candidate will follow hotel cleanliness, safety, and service standards while completing assigned rooms efficiently and responding professionally to guest needs.

• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and assigned public areas.
• Make beds, change linens, replace towels, and replenish toiletries and other amenities.
• Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, mop floors, polish surfaces, and remove waste.
• Inspect rooms to ensure they meet the hotel's cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Stock, organize, and maintain housekeeping carts, supplies, and cleaning equipment.
• Use cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment safely and according to instructions.
• Report damage, missing items, safety hazards, and maintenance issues promptly.
• Update room status and complete cleaning checklists accurately.
• Respond courteously and promptly to reasonable guest requests.
• Protect guest privacy, belongings, keys, and confidential information.
• Assist with laundry, deep cleaning, and other housekeeping duties when required.
• Follow all hotel health, safety, security, and infection-control procedures.

• Previous housekeeping, cleaning, or hospitality experience is preferred but not always required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned rooms within required timeframes.
• Good organization, time-management, and communication skills.
• Dependable, honest, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Professional and courteous when interacting with guests and colleagues.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemical safety is an advantage.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to lift and carry linens, supplies, equipment, and other moderately heavy items.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Relevant housekeeping, sanitation, or workplace-safety training is an advantage.

This position involves regular use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Employees must wear the required uniform and protective equipment and comply with all hotel safety procedures.

The Hotel Housekeeper is expected to maintain consistent cleanliness, complete assignments efficiently, protect guest privacy, minimize waste, and contribute to a positive guest experience.
