Cyber Security Analyst

Location: Woburn MA Location Details: onsite parking available Duration: ASAP – 1 year contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with senior cybersecurity team members to proactively hunt for threats across endpoint, network, cloud, and email environments.
• Monitor and analyze security data from SIEM, EDR, network traffic, logs, and other telemetry sources to identify anomalies, indicators of compromise (IOCs), and attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Conduct investigations into suspicious activity, document findings, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop, tune, and maintain security detections, alerts, dashboards, and threat hunting playbooks to improve visibility and response capabilities.
• Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to correlate internal findings with emerging external threats.
• Support vulnerability management efforts by identifying security gaps and tracking remediation activities.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay current on emerging threats, attack techniques, cybersecurity tools, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in threat hunting, SOC operations, incident response, or cyber threat intelligence.
• Strong knowledge of the MITRE Telecommunication&CK framework, cyber kill chain methodologies, and adversary behaviors.
• Experience with SIEM and EDR platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, CrowdStrike, or Microsoft Defender.
• Experience with email security technologies including Mimecast, Microsoft Defender, and Purview.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to identify patterns and anomalies across large datasets.
• Basic scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies for automation and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• CompTIA Security+ or CySA+
• GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
• Certified SOC Analyst (CSA)
• Microsoft SC-200: Security Operations Analyst Associate
