Bilingual Customer Care Representative

As a Customer Care Specialist, you will play a key role in Piedmont Natural Gas' customer success and satisfaction, ensuring excellent service and business objectives are achieved. Responsibilities Provide high‑quality customer interactions, handling customer needs with integrity and empathy in a single transaction. Use professional judgment and, when appropriate, escalate customer issues or concerns to management. Participate in the on‑call rotation. Promote sales of available products and services as appropriate. Build genuine connections with customers and act as an ambassador for the Duke Energy brand. Perform other duties as assigned, including work on special projects. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED completed at the time of application. One year of customer service experience (may include call center, hospitality, retail, etc.) by phone or face‑to‑face. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, including reading and translating from English to Spanish. Desired Qualifications Experience providing customer service support for Duke Energy. Experience as an Escalations Agent for Duke Energy. Experience enrolling customers in Duke Energy Residential Solutions Products and Services. Direct call‑center experience of 3+ years (preferred). Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree. Willingness to work in a 100% phone‑based customer interaction environment. Experience multi‑tasking with multiple technologies, monitors, screens, and applications. Effective listening and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally, courteously, and empathetically. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Pay & Working Schedule Hourly rate: $21.00 (non‑negotiable). Bilingual specialists receive an additional $1.00 premium. Virtual position with required remote work; onsite attendance may be required monthly for technical support. Annual performance incentives. Operating hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30AM – 7:00PM Charlotte, NC (includes weekends/overnight shifts). Over‑time and storm‑duty calls expected. Schedule changes may occur due to business needs. Working Conditions The role is virtual after onboarding. Virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility and may be asked to report to the facility once a month. During inclement weather or major events (e.g., hurricanes, snowstorms), Customer Care Specialists are expected to be on‑call and work extended hours, including mandatory overtime, to support higher call volumes.
