## THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking an experienced **Quality Assurance Manager** to lead and continuously improve our quality program within a specialized **welding and pressure vessel fabrication environment** .

This is a **hands-on technical leadership position** for a quality professional who understands the complexities of pressure vessel fabrication, welding processes, ASME Codes, inspection, and quality documentation.

The successful candidate will work closely with **Operations, Engineering, Welding, Metallurgy, customers, inspectors, and field personnel** to ensure projects meet applicable code requirements, customer specifications, quality standards, and expectations for safety, reliability, and performance.

# WHAT YOU'LL DO:

### Quality Program Leadership:

• Lead and continuously improve the company's quality assurance and quality control programs.

• Develop and implement **project-specific quality plans** , including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), welding compliance plans, weld maps, and supporting documentation.

• Develop and maintain **QA/QC procedures, process sheets, and quality documentation** .

• Lead quality process improvements, internal audits, training, and corrective actions.

• Identify opportunities to improve **quality, efficiency, productivity, and cost** .

### Welding & Fabrication Engineering Support:

• Develop and maintain **Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQs)** .

• Provide technical welding support to fabrication and field teams.

• Support welding-related troubleshooting and problem solving.

Provide technical solutions involving:

• Welding

• Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)

• ASME Code requirements

• Heat treatment

• Passivation

• Mechanical testing

• Materials and fabrication processes

• Develop and document **repair procedures** when required.

• Partner with the **Welding Engineer and Metallurgist** on welding, materials, and fabrication projects.

### Inspection & Code Compliance:

• Perform and/or coordinate **shop and field inspections** of pressure vessels and boilers as required.

• Complete **ASME Code Data Reports** and final quality documentation/packages.

• Ensure fabrication activities and documentation comply with applicable **ASME, API, AWS, and customer requirements** .

• Work directly with **third-party inspectors, customers, AIA representatives, engineers, and internal personnel** .

• Review inspection results and assist with resolution of quality or code-related issues.

• Support NDE activities and ensure appropriate examination methods are applied.

### Customer & Project Support:

• Review customer specifications and identify quality, inspection, welding, and code requirements.

• Support the estimating process by providing technical quality and fabrication input.

• Communicate directly with customers, inspectors, engineers, and operations personnel regarding quality requirements and technical issues.

• Provide quality support to both **shop and field personnel** throughout project execution.

• Help ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements.

# WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

### Required Experience & Technical Knowledge:

• **5-10 years of experience** in construction, fabrication, welding, pressure vessels, or a closely related environment.

• Strong hands-on experience with **ASME pressure vessel fabrication** .

Demonstrated experience developing and working with:

• WPSs

• PQRs

• WPQs

• Weld maps

• Inspection & Test Plans

• Quality documentation

* Strong understanding of **ASME Code requirements and documentation**.

* Strong knowledge of multiple welding processes, including:

• GTAW / TIG

• GMAW / MIG

• FCAW

• SMAW / Stick

• SAW

• PAW

Strong understanding of welding quality, inspection, and fabrication practices:

• Knowledge of **NDE methods and their applications** .

• Strong technical problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively with **customers, inspectors, engineers, welders, operations, and field personnel** .

### Codes & Standards

Experience with applicable portions of the following codes and standards is highly valued:

• **ASME Section I**

• **ASME Section V**

• **ASME Section VIII**

• **ASME Section IX**

• **ASME B31.1**

• **ASME B31.3**

• **ASME B31.4**

• **ASME B31.8**

• **API 1104**

• **AWS D1.1**

• Experience with **API tanks** or **ASME pressure piping** is a plus.

# EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

### Education:

• Bachelor's degree in **Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field** preferred, but **not required**.

• Mechanical Engineering or Welding Engineering background is a plus.

• Significant hands-on industry experience may be considered in lieu of a four-year degree.

### Certifications - Preferred:

**AWS CWI and/or CRI**

**ASNT NDE Level I, II, or III**

**Professional Engineer (PE) license**

• Additional welding certifications or formal welding training
