This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.Shift Leader-This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, in support of New Glenn GS1 booster production.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsible for managing the productivity and output of an operational shift of the GS1 FWD work center, resulting in the successful attainment of daily operations goals and statements of work for assigned work areas. Scope of work includes planning, scheduling, and prioritizing work across Technicians assigned to work centers and processes. Works with other Shift Leaders and Operations Leaders to ensure that the manufacturing location achieves daily, weekly, and monthly production objectives. Provides hands on coaching and is accountable for managing performance and developingShifts: BLocation: Space Coast, FLRelocation: AvailableResponsibilities:Build and manage/supervise the GS1 FWD Module Integration team with an emphasis on team building, conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, assigning tasks, and conducting performance reviews.Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop avionics integration technicians and engineers, managing workloads, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering technical expertiseIntegration Management: Oversee the installation, integration, and testing of systems including communication, navigation, surveillance, flight control, and mission systemsTechnical Problem Resolution: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex systems integration challenges, developing innovative solutions while maintaining schedule adherenceProject Coordination: Plan and manage avionics integration activities across multiple projects, coordinating resources, timelines, and interdependencies with other engineering disciplinesQuality Assurance: Ensure all integration activities comply with DO-178, DO-254, and other applicable aviation standards while maintaining comprehensive documentation and traceabilityProcess Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize integration procedures, test methodologies, and validation processes to enhance efficiency and product qualityCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Systems Engineering, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, and Flight Test teams to resolve interface issues and ensure system-level performanceRegulatory Compliance: Ensure all avionics integration activities adhere to FAA, EASA, or other relevant regulatory requirements for certification and airworthinessQualifications:Direct/Indirect leadership experience, working aerospace development programs or production lines.Structure and Integration experience; fluids and tubing install, instrumentation and electrical cabling/harness routing, bracketry, avionics, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assemblyAbility to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilitiesClimb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areasWork at heights on work stands and in lifts.Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbsBasic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.Must be able to set a high hiring bar while evaluating and hiring top talentExtremely customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skillsA demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of skills across large geographic distancesA continuous improvement mindset.
