Application Deadline: Apr 30, 2027 11:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time) Starting Date: To Be Determined Job Description Position Title: High School Success Coach Department: Student Services Reports To: Principal FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Summary: The high school success coach is a 20‑hour per week position that provides mentoring, academic planning, and support services to students repeating the ninth grade. Regular communication with parents, teachers, administrators, and school counselors ensures each student has the support needed to maximize school engagement and success, helping them return to grade level and remain on track for graduation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop personalized action plans for each student to improve their grades and academic performance. Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group mentoring to students repeating the ninth grade. Assist students in setting realistic academic goals and tracking their progress. Encourage a positive mindset and foster a growth‑oriented atmosphere. Implement strategies and activities to boost students' self‑confidence, resilience, and motivation. Routinely report student progress to school‑based teams and key district personnel. Identify barriers to success and develop strategies to overcome them. Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and school counselors to provide a comprehensive support system. Provide feedback and resources to parents to support their child’s academic and personal growth at home. Attend professional development sessions and meetings to acquire skills that maximize student success. Provide all required documentation as required by the Stronger Connections grant. Job Specifications Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (preferred). Experience working with high school students who may struggle academically or socially (preferred). Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to build rapport and trust with students and their families. Passion for helping students succeed and fostering a positive school culture. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/A Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Other Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to plan and implement interventions to support students. Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills are required. Physical Demands Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and frequent use of a computer monitor. The job requires sitting, standing, walking, and reaching. Work Environment Office setting with quiet to moderate noise levels. Frequent interruptions and the need for prompt responses to unexpected situations are expected. Terms of Employment $36/hour for certified employees $19/hour for non‑certified employees 20‑hour work week Location Success coaches will be hired at Aiken High School, Midland Valley High School, North Augusta High School, and South Aiken High School.
