Line Cooks at the Whitewater CenterLine Cooks at the Whitewater Center are responsible for cooking and preparing a variety of food products according to specified recipes and guest specifications. Line Cooks are on-site, and can either be hired as full-time hourly, benefits eligible employees or part-time hourly employees reporting directly to the Executive Chef.ResponsibilitiesSafely prepare a variety of food products using various kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and sharp knives.Understand and consistently comply with portion sizes and recipe specifications as described on recipe cards.Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.Operate and read a kitchen display system to create dishes according to guest specifications.Be able to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation within the kitchen.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsNo prior restaurant experience is needed.Must have excellent communication skills.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed.Physical DemandsMust be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time in all weather and environmental conditions.Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.Must be able to bend, stand, lean, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time.Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers.All positions as Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.Preferred Qualifications1-2 years kitchen experience in a fast-paced, casual dining environment.BenefitsAccess to the Whitewater Center's pass activitiesStaff discount program and pro deals401KHealth, Dental, Vision, FSA (FT Only)Overview of DepartmentThe Food and Beverage Department delivers exceptional, chef-driven culinary service to Whitewater guests.
