River Point Farms is now hiring reliable Inspectors to join our onion processing team! Summary: The Inspector checks incoming raw onions to ensure they meet quality and safety standards before processing. This role focuses on identifying defects, sorting product, and supporting smooth production flow. Responsibilities: Inspect incoming onions for defects such as damage, rot, size differences, and other quality issues. Trim, repair, or remove defects using knives or other tools as needed. Discard product that does not meet standards. Sort onions by size and direct them to the correct processing area. Work with team members to keep product flowing consistently. Confirm raw product meets company and customer requirements. Report quality or food safety concerns immediately. Follow food safety and quality procedures (SOPs, GMPs, HACCP, SQF). Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school or equivalent preferred. Basic understanding of food safety and quality (training provided). Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects. Ability to safely use knives or tools as required. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow standard procedures and work in a production environment. Noise levels are often high and may require the use of hearing protection. Work hours may vary based on and may include day, night, weekend, holiday, or extended shifts to support continuous operations. Travel by vehicle may be required for other company facilities, suppliers, or operational sites. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hard hats, safety footwear, hearing protection, and protective clothing will be provided in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
