Position Overview

GD Resources LLC is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician to provide part-time primary care services to students at Boxelder Job Corps Center. The student population consists primarily of young adults ages 16 24.

The provider will deliver preventive, acute, and chronic care while collaborating with the center's Health and Wellness team to support students' health, education, and employment goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Review applicant medical records, conduct intake physical examinations, and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Diagnose and treat common illnesses, minor injuries, and acute medical conditions.

• Manage chronic conditions and coordinate care for students with disabilities.

• Prescribe controlled and noncontrolled medications within authorized scope of practice.

• Provide preventive care, required screenings, immunizations, and health education.

• Coordinate with substance-abuse counselors and other healthcare professionals on treatment and medication management.

• Arrange referrals for specialty, urgent, or emergency care.

• Maintain accurate and timely student health records, prescriptions, and treatment documentation.

• Participate in requested case reviews, disability accommodation meetings, quality improvement activities, and scheduled training.

• Report relevant medical concerns, supply shortages, and equipment needs to center leadership.

• Follow HIPAA, infection-control, patient safety, and Job Corps requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician with an active, unrestricted South Dakota license appropriate to the position.

• Active DEA registration and authority to prescribe medications required for the role.

• Ability to maintain medical professional liability coverage of at least $1 million and provide proof before placement.

• Ability to work independently within authorized scope of practice and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

• Ability to provide onsite services consistently and complete required credential verification.

• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check and drug screening if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in primary care, family medicine, adolescent medicine, school health, or community health.

• Experience serving disadvantaged youth and young adults.

• Familiarity with chronic disease management, behavioral health coordination, and substance-use treatment support.

• Previous experience with Job Corps or a similar residential education or training program.

Schedule and Work Environment

Services will generally be scheduled on one or two weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. , with exact days and hours mutually agreed upon. The annual requirement is approximately 400 hours , rather than a full-time assignment.

No after-hours call coverage is required. Government holidays are generally excluded, with schedule adjustments coordinated with the center.

The center provides examination rooms, clinical equipment, supplies, PPE, and computer access.
