Assistant ManagerIndus Management Group is a property management company in Houston specializing in renovating and restoring distressed multifamily properties. With our first acquisition in 2002, Indus Management Group currently manages 38 apartment complexes in the Houston area. We specialize in the Class B & C property space, with over 10,000 units under management. Our goal has always been and continues to be to convert distressed properties into uplifted communities.The Assistant Manager supports the Property Manager in the management of day-to-day operations. They oversee the financial management of the property by ensuring that delinquency is collected, and records are kept up to date. They, additionally, spearhead property maintenance by ensuring that work orders and make-readies are completed efficiently.Minimum Qualifications:Education: High School or GEDExperience: Minimum two (2) years of related property management experience with multi-familyLicense/Certification(s): Valid State Driver's LicenseKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:English/Spanish fluencyEffective interpersonal relationships, communications, and customer service skillsTechnologically savvy; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; some experience using property management software preferred (proficiency with Entrata is a plus)Demonstrates the ability to lead onsite property management employeesKnowledge of applicable federal, state, and city regulations involving Fair Housing, health and safety policies and procedures, and other aspects of residential, and multi-family property managementRequirements:Serves as Second-in-Command for property in the absence of the Property ManagerAssists with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of onsite employeesOversees administration of accounting functions for the property including maintenance of financial records and resident ledgersCommunicates with all residents and ensures that delinquency is collected in a timely manner through regular notices, lockouts, and evictions as requiredConducts financial-move-outs by walking apartments and ensuring deposits are effectively processedProcesses all deposit and refund requests by collaborating with the corporate office for executionResponds to inquiries from prospects and current residents regarding property services, accounts, etc.Leads make-readies process and walk units to ensure turnover is completed in a timely fashionManages maintenance department and coordinates work order requests with appropriate staff or vendorsMonitors rehab projects on property and ensures timely executionOther duties as assignedWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
