Staff Accountant

The Accounting team supports Operations by providing accurate and timely financial reporting during all phases of construction. This position reports to the Controller. Responsibilities Job cost accounting Weekly subsistence processing Maintain and update accounting records and files Monthly expense tracking Post transactions and categorize entries in the general ledger Prepare documents for audits Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries Periodic prequalification reporting Cross train and backup Accounts Payable Cross train and backup Accounts Receivable Cross train and backup Payroll Assist in the preparation of annual tax documents Research and special accounting projects as needed General office support to include filing and other administrative tasks Requirements and Skills High school diploma 3+ years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience General knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures Effective written and verbal communication Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Outlook and Teams Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately; 10 key preferred Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy Able to manage varying tasks and responsibilities and meet deadlines while working independently Confidentiality and integrity Environmental and physical requirements Physical Conditions Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Occasional standing, walking, or lifting up to 20 lbs. (e.g., office supplies). Manual dexterity for keyboard and office equipment use. Environmental Conditions Work performed in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels. Exposure to artificial lighting and climate-controlled settings.
