In-School Suspension Facilitator

Supervise and monitor students assigned to the In-School Suspension Program. Knowledge and abilities include understanding school and classroom rules, procedures and practices, interpreting and establishing appropriate rules, methods and techniques in maintaining a disciplined academic environment, strong interpersonal skills and patience, and experience working with students and knowledge of conflict resolution techniques.

Duties and responsibilities include providing supervision for students assigned to the In-School Suspension classroom, taking daily attendance, reviewing in-school suspension policies, procedures and student expectations with students daily, working with students and or other staff members during student reflection period on issues such as behavior management and the prevention of undesirable behaviors, monitoring all ISS assignments, providing encouragement and feedback to students, monitoring tests, computer work and providing instructional assistance as appropriate, ensuring students have security escorts to lavatory facilities, emailing teachers 24 hours in advance for work requests and completing student Work Completion Logs for all students assigned to the room, facilitating and arranging delivery of student lunches when necessary, and referring behavior problems to Assistant Principals.

Education and experience include a Bachelor's degree, operating knowledge of computers, experience in working with high school age children, and the ability to handle and react to potential volatile situations and take appropriate action.
