Dispatch Communications Specialist - ProMedica Transportation Network

Location: Junction Building - HQ Department: Mobile ICU Weekly Hours: 42 Status: Full time Shift: Days (United States of America) Job Summary All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise Receive, triage, and schedule all ground and air to ground patient transports. Organize facility schedules for Zoll/Logis entry and Dispatch processing. Coordinate daily schedule adjustments and communicate with Care Navigation, Access, Field Supervision and Facilities. Ensure daily efficient processing of all ProMedica Enterprise transport requests, in conjunction with Care Navigation, Access, Field Supervision, and Facilities. Process all transportation requests following priority responses within established metrics. Effectively and accurately input all transport data and related communications within the CAD system. Effectively dispatch and track Ambulances and Ambulette’s to proper originating and receiving facilities utilizing established procedures and protocols. Escalate any scheduling conflicts or transport delays to the Systems Supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Education: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Skills: Must be able to organize effectively, pay close mindfulness and perform functions with minimal supervision. Must have excellent people skills. Years of Experience: None specified. License: None specified. Certification: Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) within three (3) months of hire. Preferred Qualifications Education: None specified. Skills: None specified. Years of Experience: 1-2 years in Medical Dispatch or Care Navigation. License: None specified. Certification: EMT Basic (EMT-B) in the state of Ohio. Additional Experience Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries; requires effective people skills. Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer. Must be proficient in the use of a computer. Knowledge of IP radio, phone, dispatch, and recording systems. Knowledge of security systems. EMS CAD, Epic and Image Trend operational procedures. Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs., 20% of the time. Must be able to differentiate colors, work with monitors, VCR’s, hazardous materials, and equipment.
