Water Resources Engineer

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of projects involving stormwater management, flood risk, drainage, water supply, and natural water systems. The successful candidate will contribute to technically sound, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions across a range of projects, working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders.


Responsibilities will include preparing hydrologic and hydraulic assessments; developing drainage, flood mitigation, and water management strategies; undertaking modelling using appropriate industry software; and producing calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and consent documentation. You will assist with site investigations, data collection, option assessments, design reviews, and construction support, as well as monitoring project progress, budgets, risks, and technical quality. The role may also involve reviewing existing infrastructure, identifying opportunities to improve resilience and environmental performance, and providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.


Applicants should hold a degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a related discipline, with relevant professional experience in water, drainage, flood risk, or hydraulic engineering. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, GIS, CAD, and applicable design standards is desirable. You should have strong analytical, report-writing, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team. Professional registration or progress toward registration will be viewed favourably.
