Positions details:

• Location: St. Joseph's Hospital South – Medical/Surgical ICU – Riverview, Florida
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) license
• RN professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN
• Bachelor's degree in nursing OR BS healthcare related field OR an RN professional nurse specialty certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an acute care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Responsibilities:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
