Network Test Automation Engineer (Ethernet Systems DV)Location: Foster City, CA (Onsite) Pay Rate: $85–95/hour (W2 only) Contract: 6-Month Contract Industry: Autonomous MobilityAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Network Test Automation Engineer to support the development and validation of Ethernet-based sensor networks within an advanced autonomous vehicle platform.In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams—including Systems, Integration, Software, and Sensor teams—to build scalable automation solutions that ensure network performance, reliability, and compliance across complex distributed systems.This position is ideal for an engineer with strong automation experience and deep expertise in networking, particularly within hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system validation environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for Ethernet compliance, integration, and performance testingCreate and utilize PCAP/tcpdump tools and fault-injection scripts to validate network protocols (e.g., ARP, ICMP) and failure scenariosConfigure and manage VLAN (802.1Q) network topologies across bench and HIL environmentsValidate interoperability between network switches and sensors, ensuring compliance with security and industry standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust network validation solutionsMaintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation for test frameworks, methodologies, and system configurationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field6+ years of experience in network testing, automation, or system validationStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, including OSI model, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, SNMP, and VLANsProficiency in Python and Bash scripting, with experience building automation frameworks (e.g., pytest)Hands-on experience with network diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, iPerf, tcpdump, traceroute, and ethtoolExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesAbility to troubleshoot issues across the full network stackPreferred QualificationsExperience with automotive Ethernet standards (e.g., 100BASE-T1, BroadR-Reach)Familiarity with DoIP and UDS over IPKnowledge of time synchronization protocols (e.g., IEEE 1588v2/PTP, 802.1AS)Experience working in HIL environments, including integration with DAQ systems and relay-controlled power setupsWhy JoinWork on cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technologyCollaborate with highly skilled, cross-functional engineering teams Comrise
