What You'll Do:

  • Perform diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients using 2D, M-mode, and Doppler techniques
  • Coordinate with hospital departments for scheduling, patient transport, and billing accuracy
  • Assist cardiologists during exams by preparing and measuring M-modes and exchanging pertinent information for diagnoses
  • Deliver, pick up, and distribute dictations efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Respond to patient needs and monitor patient condition during exams, reporting changes as appropriate
  • Order supplies, maintain room cleanliness, and ensure equipment quality and operation
  • Log patient data and file records accurately, participating in departmental quality initiatives
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and on-call emergency exam coverage as needed
  • Stay current with advances in echocardiography techniques and seek guidance from cardiology team
  • Assist with other cardiac procedures as required

What You Need:

  • Valid registration with A.R.D.M.S. / CCI or equivalent credentials; registry eligible candidates are encouraged to apply
  • State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • At least 2 years of actively performing echocardiograms (preferred)
  • Strong communication, organization, and manual dexterity skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under stress and communicate effectively with team members and patients
