Animal Care Technician I

Currently seeking an Animal Care Tech I in Worcester, MA. Details for the position are as follows: Pay: $19-21/hr. 3+ years of experience pay up to $26/hr. 12-month assignment with possibility for extension or conversionbased on performance and budget. Responsibilities: Provide daily husbandry care for animals (mice, rats, and some rabbits) in the vivarium, including checking humidity and temperature levels. Perform steam sterilization, cage washing, and cage changing tasks. Maintain and operate cage wash equipment (tunnel washer, rack washer, and autoclave). Order, receive, and autoclave feed, bedding, and water; prepare feed and bedding for technicians. Perform environmental monitoring on equipment such as bottle fillers and rack & tunnel washers. Learn and perform euthanasia methods (e.g., CO2, exsanguination) as required. Maintain cleanliness and organization of cage wash areas and laundry facilities. Education Requirements: High School Diploma with 1+ years of working with animals in a lab environment. OR Associate's/Bachelor's Degree with academic lab experience. Qualifications: Comfortability with euthanasia is Required. Experience with rodent/mice husbandry is Highly Preferred. Experience with GLP is Preferred. Experience with cage washing is Preferred.
