Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, microscopic, and microbiological test assays to obtain results for use in diagnosis and treatment.
• Prepare specimens and manage storing and labeling; operate manual and automatic equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests.
• Conduct procedures within the scope defined by state licensure regulations, avoiding tasks that are restricted to licensed clinical laboratory scientists.
• Supervise phlebotomists, offering suggestions and guidance as needed.
• Document results, maintain quality control, and communicate findings clearly for clinical interpretation.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and SOPs to ensure accurate, reliable laboratory operations.

Requirements

• Experience performing chemical, microscopic, and microbiological assays in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Proficiency with manual and automatic equipment used to prepare specimens and conduct analytical tests.
• Ability to supervise phlebotomists and provide guidance to staff as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety and quality control standards.
• Ability to work in a hospital laboratory environment during daytime hours.
