This contract opportunity offers a chance to work in a self-contained resource classroom, supporting elementary-aged learners with a range of special education needs. The role is full-time, with 37.5 hours per week, and will run until May 2027.

Desired skills and experience:

• Experience as a paraprofessional, especially in special education settings
• Comfort assisting students with personal care, including toileting
• Patience, understanding, and a genuine desire to help students thrive
• Knowledge of classroom or ABA strategies is highly valued
• Active GaPSC Paraprofessional Educator Certificate required; if not currently held, candidates must have at least an Associate’s degree or have completed the Para GACE exam

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students within self-contained special education classrooms
• Assist teachers with classroom management, instruction, and individualized support plans
• Support students with daily activities, fostering independence and inclusion
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive environment
• Collaborate with educational staff and contribute to the success of each student’s learning journey
