Worship Pastor

West Side Baptist Church (WSBC) in El Dorado, AR, is a vibrant, loving, and established church with an immediate opening for a Worship Pastor.

Position Title: Worship Pastor

General Job Description: The Worship Pastor will be responsible to the Senior Pastor and work with all members of the church staff as necessary to plan, develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive programs and ministries related to the Worship Ministries of WSBC.

Detailed Job Description

· Direct the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive music ministry.

· Coordinate the church music ministry with the calendar and emphasis of the church.

· Plan the congregational services of the church, being responsible for the selection of the music.

· Direct the music groups, including but not limited to the adult choir, praise team, and worship band. Be knowledgeable of children’s choir music. Lead in congregational singing and arrange for competent directors in the event of an absence.

· Enlist and train leaders for the church music ministry.

· Supervise the work of all music leaders for the church music ministry.

· Coordinate the performance schedules of music groups and individuals in functions of the church.

· Attend staff meetings as directed by the Senior Pastor.

· Supervise maintenance of and additions to the music library and equipment. Provide musical materials, supplies, instruments, and other music equipment for use in church programs, including the sound system.

· Keep informed on current music methods, materials, promotion and administration, utilizing them where appropriate. Attend various workshops and conferences where music methods and materials are available.

· Prepare and present the Music Ministry budget to the finance committee for their consideration during the church budget process. Maintain the budget as approved by the finance committee and the church.

· Support the Senior Pastor by assisting in all areas of the ministry, such as ministry to shut-ins and visitation.

· Possesses personality, temperament, and interpersonal skills to relate and serve effectively within a multi-generational congregation setting

· Exhibits evidence of Christian character and servant leadership as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

· Demonstrates evidence of a spiritually balanced life (prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, financial stewardship)

· Aligns doctrinally with the SBC Baptist Faith & Message 2000, doctrinal positions, mission and core values

· Possesses a strong work ethic and personal integrity

Hours & Benefits: The Worship Pastor position will be classified as a full-time, salaried employee. Benefits offered will be consistent with the current policy for insurance, paid time off (PTO), and holidays. This position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week.
