Will ensure that maximum learning can take place to help students learn subject matter and skill that will contribute to their understanding of the concepts and critical thinking skills as mature and responsible citizens and members of the workforce. Essential Functions Provides direct supplemental instruction to those students requiring support in the academic, applied and/or related areas. Supports academic instructors in the classroom, and provides individual, small group instruction to meet needs, specifically designed instruction and ability of students. Provides all necessary support services for students with disabilities. Maintains written progress reports for students served to include, but not limited to, formal assessments, pre and post‑tests, and daily assignments. Develops and prepares a variety of teaching aids/resources and instruction to supplement academic instruction classes. Prepares and maintains a weekly schedule of students to be served and maintain close communication and interaction with regular academic and career technical instructors. Maintains close communications and a "team" effort with all staff. Maintains appropriate learning atmosphere through utilization of available resources and equipment. Makes modifications within the curriculum according to the student's IEP. Assists with Ohio graduation assessments administration for the students who require accommodations. Maintains up to date IEP records in accordance with federal and state mandated compliance. Maintains knowledge of options for students with disabilities within Warren County Career Center district, partner schools, and in community service agencies. Creates an environment for success, fosters a love of learning while creativity and risk taking are valued and encouraged. Assists students in constructing their own learning and holding students responsible for their own behavior. Commits to meeting high quality educational standards for self and students. Assists with student recruitment activities (i.e., sophomore visitations and open house). Maintains up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district to enhance the teaching and learning process. Assures appropriate supervision of students at all times. Participates in open houses, parent conferences, attend all faculty and departmental meetings in accordance with district policy and the Master Contract. Provides intervention for those students who have been identified as requiring additional academic instruction. Attends district events, as requested and scheduled on the district calendar. Works with family, school, business/industry and community to maximize educational opportunities for students. Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual. Maintains valid teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s) for the position to which the employee is assigned. Conducts and presents the position in a professional manner. Maintains a positive work attitude. Effectively uses verbal, nonverbal, writing, and listening skills. Is punctual and thorough in implementation of all assigned duties. Terms of Employment Workdays stipulated as per calendar, salary as per salary schedule in effect as adopted by the Board of Education. May be assigned to any position for which the employee is licensed/certified.
