Asset and Liability Management (ALM) Associate Director (IC) - Portfolio Management

Position Overview At PNC, our people are our greatest differentiator and competitive advantage. The Asset and Liability Management (ALM) Associate Director will be a key contributor to PNC’s Chief Investment Office, responsible for managing over $200 billion in fixed‑income assets and derivative products. The role supports the CIO and CIO staff on strategic initiatives related to interest‑rate risk, capital, liquidity regulation, and governance projects, working closely with senior portfolio managers, the Chief Investment Officer, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities Support senior staff in regulatory, governance, and other initiatives within the CIO Office and propose recommended actions to senior management. Coordinate with portfolio managers, modelers, and subject‑matter experts on assignments. Oversee new projects and analytics, including creation, maintenance, and utilization of management reports to help the group meet their goals and directives. Make recommendations based on knowledge of markets, macroeconomics, banking and regulatory requirements, assessing the potential impact on PNC and the assigned business unit. Use independent judgment and discretion to perform transaction and portfolio level analysis, conduct research and prepare reports. Perform due diligence and statistical analysis related to portfolio management. Utilize a working knowledge of financial instruments in the bank’s investment portfolio, conduct research and collect relevant information to contribute to investment decision‑making processes and strategy development. Develop, maintain, and utilize management reports and new projects for management that help the Group meet their goals, establish the risk position of the organization, and identify problems in analytics and develop solutions. Interact with internal and external service partners, including broker dealers and analytics providers, and leverage their knowledge. Develop, administer, and perform defined processes and procedures and maintain knowledge of markets and macroeconomics. Determine the impact of regulatory requirements, structured product markets, CFTC swap dealer regulations, and other considerations on ALM and the assigned business unit. Qualifications Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role. The following are preferred: Preferred Skills – Asset allocation, auditing operations, business case analysis, credit risk analysis, data analytics, data visualization, decision making, investments, market research. Competencies – Asset and Liability Management (ALM), business acumen, derivatives, financial analysis, industry knowledge, investment performance measurement, portfolio management, pricing models and analytics, regulatory environment – financial services. Experience – Five or more years of industry‑relevant experience; a university/college degree is required. Military service and relevant certifications may be considered as an alternative to a degree. Education – Bachelor’s degree. No certification or license required. Pay Transparency Base salary: $65,000.00 ‑ $254,150.00.
