Visually Impaired Teacher
Provides support services to visually impaired students enrolled in regular classrooms. Essential duties and responsibilities include providing direct instruction on a part-time basis in academic areas to visually impaired students enrolled in regular and self-contained classes of other exceptionalities, providing supplementary teaching materials to the classroom teacher, serving as a liaison between the school and the home for the visually impaired students, securing large print and/or braille textbooks and other instructional materials, consulting with classroom teachers and others serving visually impaired students, and arranging for and scheduling periodic evaluations of visually impaired students. Other duties as assigned that are related to the functions of the position.
Education and experience: Must possess a valid Louisiana Teacher's certificate in the area of Visually Impaired. Technological abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in general use of a computer, the use of email as a form of communication, and other job-specific equipment, software, and/or applications.
$21.93 - $47.93 per hour
