Our team is made up of diverse, dedicated professionals who support one another and take pride in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our patients.Why Join Our Team?Supportive, team-oriented environment with strong leadership presenceOpportunity to work alongside experienced providers in both Primary Care and Express CareClinic closed daily from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM for lunchFast-paced, engaging work with opportunities to grow your clinical skillsA culture that values kindness, collaboration, and continuous improvementAbout Our ClinicUnder the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager and general supervision of providers and licensed nursing staff, the Medical Assistant supports patient care delivery in accordance with California state regulations and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.This role includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities, such as:Rooming patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with proceduresPerforming venipuncture and specimen collectionManaging patient flow and supporting efficient clinic operationsScheduling appointments and navigating electronic health recordsMaintaining exam rooms, stocking supplies, and ensuring infection control standardsSupporting providers with in-basket tasks and patient communicationThis position requires strong initiative, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.Minimum QualificationsCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.Current BART certification, or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.Minimum one (1) year of medical assistant experience in a fast-paced Primary Care or Family Medicine setting.Proficiency in venipuncture/blood draws.Knowledge of medical terminology, universal precautions, and proper body mechanics.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Preferred QualificationsTwo (2) years of medical assistant experience.Experience assisting with procedures (e.g., splinting, injections, wound care).Experience with Epic (Cadence module preferred).Familiarity with UCSD workflows (FLOW process).Venipuncture certification.Special ConditionsMust be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $56,063 - $74,020 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $26.85 - $35.45Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
