Summary Responsible for all of, but not limited to, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, designing and installing electrical equipment. This teammate will assist with process improvements and support operations. The role emphasizes improving predictive and preventive electrical maintenance while reducing reactive situations. Hourly Range: $24.00 - $37.42 DOE. Electrical Qualifications Must be capable of learning operational equipment process flow and understand how equipment interlocking works. Performs layout, installation, repair, programming, maintenance and replacement of electrical, PLC components, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and electronic circuits such as controls, motors, transformers, switchboards, and instruments. Demonstrates ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and equipment cut sheets as well as understand verbal instructions. Runs wire, cable, and conduit; connects power source and installs switch panels, junction boxes, control panels, etc. Repairs, maintains and overhauls equipment, control panels, building structures and machinery. Diagnoses electrical problems and corrects them by repairing, replacing or recommending other appropriate action. Responds to call-outs on an as‑needed basis to keep operational equipment running. Adjusts, calibrates, aligns and modifies circuitry, components and equipment, recording performance by using signal generator, ammeter, multimeter, voltmeter or other appropriate electrical equipment. Performs various work of a mechanical nature. Requisitions necessary parts and supplies within appropriate authority level or informs supervisor if items are above authority level. Applies electronic theory and principles, testing procedures and engineering math to design, build or modify equipment at any location. Demonstrates solid proficiency in computer operation and program applications. Attends and successfully completes all training necessary to maintain proper knowledge to perform the duties of this position (PLC training, VFD operation and set‑up, vendor‑sponsored classes, etc.). May be required to instruct or assist in the instruction or training of others. Assists with special projects as assigned. Performs project‑related work as part of normal day‑to‑day activities to accomplish location goals and objectives. Provides technical assistance and support to plant problem‑solving activities involving quality, production, environmental, maintenance, and/or change‑management issues. Assists in analyzing equipment failures, investigating problems and offering solutions. Has ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical components, electronic circuits in PLC and VFD controls in crushing, milling, packaging, and material handling equipment including blowers and fans, air compressors, air dryers, pumps, and rotary airlocks. Can read and interpret documents such as electrical and mechanical repair manuals, structural drawings, technical procedures and safety manuals. Demonstrates problem‑solving skills involving plant electrical issues and effectively utilizes computer applications. Comparably demonstrates ability to parallel all rolls, and make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products. Can teach other maintenance classifications in all qualification requirements and proper maintenance procedures. Uses all aspects of the maintenance SAP software program. Follows up all work to ensure repairs and tasks are performed properly. Maximizes utilization of equipment by maintaining machinery to run at available capacity and speed. Completes all paperwork neatly, correctly and in accordance with Company guidelines. Possesses strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Works all necessary hours and shifts willingly. Maintains good housekeeping in work areas. Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. Additional duties may be assigned by management. Education and/or Experience Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent education and experience. Apprenticeship or associate’s degree is preferred. Two‑year electrical degree and two years of industrial electrical experience, OR five years of industrial electrical experience without a degree. Electrical and mechanical experience required. Preferred candidate has prior work experience in the corrugated industry. Language Skills Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters. Mathematical Skills Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math. Reasoning Ability Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Able to address problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations. Technical Skills Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. Familiarity with product layouts and production specifications. Familiarity with product quality specifications. Understanding of quality standards. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment. Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
