Warehouse Supervisor

Job Overview The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the warehouse operations of each retail store. This includes supervising warehouse specialists, order pickers, and forklift operators, and supporting the Receiving Supervisor in managing the daily freight schedule based on customer and inventory needs. Responsibilities Schedule warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning for shipping and receiving. Direct day-to-day warehouse activities such as shipping, receiving, maintenance, and inventory control. Manage receiving errors, staging of products, and storage buy transactions. Maintain warehouse equipment, implement preventive maintenance programs, and communicate necessary repairs to Operations Manager. Lead warehouse safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Ensure associates are trained and following standard operating procedures. Handle the progressive disciplinary process (counseling, oral and written warnings). Address employee inquiries and solve workplace problems. Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations. Complete activity reports for management. Monitor paperwork flow from Receiving to Inventory Control for timely data entry. Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Execute the Storage Buy Audit COP, stage products for counting and inspection, and ensure proper storage to conserve space. Oversee inventory rotation within the warehouse. Perform other related duties as directed by management. Qualifications 1‑3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center. Excellent interpersonal, team‑building, delegating, and follow‑up skills. Ability to work effectively with other departments. Strong oral and written communication skills. Competent in basic mathematical calculations. Proficient computer skills with Windows‑based systems. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines. Availability to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons. Working Conditions Employees frequently work in a warehouse environment with moving vehicles. The noise level is typically moderate to noisy. Physical requirements include exerting 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, and 0–20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is required.
