Prep Cook

Position Summary:

The Club at Sterling Oaks is seeking a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook/ Kitchen Utility Staff member to join our culinary team. This role is essential to maintaining the cleanliness, efficiency, and organization of our kitchen operations. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, detail-focused, and committed to supporting a high-quality dining experience for our members and guests.

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
• Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items.
• Ensure proper storage of clean items and maintain organized dish area.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Understand and adhere to all food safety and sanitation procedures, promoting a safe workplace.
• Communicate with chefs, managers, and team members regarding daily features, events, and shift information.
• Mix and assemble recipe ingredients using proper portioning and procedures.
• Retrieve food products from storage based on daily prep needs and par levels.
• Set up and stock prep stations with necessary ingredients and supplies.
• Support chefs and cooks with additional tasks as needed. May assist with basic food preparation including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines as required by the Department of Health.

• Previous experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Stand, walk, bend, and move for 6–8 hours at a time.
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Use of hands and arms for cleaning and food prep tasks.
• Comfortable working in a hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and peak service hours.
