Finance Manager, AWS Networking Finance

This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including service general managers, product managers, engineering leaders, sales and business development leadership to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership to Elemental, Interactive Video Service and Perimeter Protection.The position will own P&Ls and perform usage and revenue analyses for new services and for existing services, deliver ad-hoc business projects and analyses, conduct usage and revenue planning, and provide financial insights.This role requires solid skills in thought leadership, a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. This role requires strong communication skills and has regular interaction with various AWS business units & senior leadership.Key job responsibilitiesThis role is critical in not only addressing financial deliverables (Weekly Business Review, Monthly Financial Reviews, Operating Plans, pricing/discounts, etc.) but also driving the business to find efficiencies to grow profit. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively and manage multiple time sensitive deliverables across a matrixed organization. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.A day in the lifeYou will partner with business and finance teams to create and improve economic models to support MBRs, QBRs, and forecasts for the AWS Networking Services. You will also work with account teams on private deal modeling and pricing. You will gather insights and make recommendations to your finance and business partners based on revenue and profitability metrics. You will also partner with product, capacity, and operations teams to understand key capacity opportunities and constraints. The team is helpful, supportive, fun, and committed to helping each member grow, develop, and achieve their career objectives.Basic qualifications- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experiencePreferred qualification - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience- MBA, or CPA- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results- 7+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experienceAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
