Job Summary Processes member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, upgrading and offering several types of membership products, scanning merchandise, and accepting various forms of payments. Provides excellent member service in an efficient and productive manner while maintaining the overall cleanliness of the front‑line department. Responsibilities Carry out assigned job functions, support club policies, procedures and compliance. Act with honesty and integrity, serving the member first and escalating concerns as appropriate. Maintain GOLD club standards daily (grand opening look, all items stocked, accurate signage, clean and organized area). Access and read production and financial performance reports for the department. Provide clear explanation of BI’s membership options, including renewals and BJ’s Loyalty Programs. Offer membership renewal, EASY renewal option, BJ’s Loyalty programs and rewards redemption. Serve members quickly and efficiently, checking them out. Scan club merchandise to ensure accurate inventory counts and purchase totals. Fill shopping carts and assist at self‑checkout stations. Collect payments via cash, check or other charge payments. Issue receipts or change. Stay up to date on promotions, advertisements and product information, redeeming coupons. Maintain cleanliness of the front‑line area and assist in general club housekeeping. Return re‑sellable merchandise to the sales floor. Manage self‑checkout, scanning and pan lanes, assisting members with operations and technical difficulties. Meet cashier productivity expectations. Maintain all club policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function. Qualifications Basic math skills. Prior cashier or sales experience. Environmental Job Conditions Movement on hard surfaces, occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, or stooping. Frequently required to lift up to 30 pounds; heavier items may require assistance. Indoor environment with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes, loud noises and cleaning agents.
