Accounting Manager – Manufacturing
The Accounting Manager oversees all day-to-day accounting activities for a manufacturing operation, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely month-end close. This role is hands-on and works closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to support cost visibility and plant performance—without direct supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
- Maintain internal controls, account reconciliations, and audit readiness
- Support cost accounting activities including standard costs, variances, and inventory valuation
- Partner with operations on production reporting, inventory accuracy, and margin analysis
- Oversee AP/AR processing, cash postings, and fixed asset tracking
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory processes
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable in a hands-on role
