Primary Care Physician Medical Director OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Primary Care Physician to serve as a Medical Director for a growing outpatient physician practice in Lancaster, New Hampshire. This leadership opportunity combines clinical practice with medical direction and is ideal for a physician interested in long-term leadership within a close-knit rural community.Position HighlightsFull-Time Leadership + Clinical RoleMedical Director: 16 hours/weekPrimary Care: 24 hours/weekApproximately 20–24 patients per dayOutpatient primary careEMR: Meditech Expanse + DragonCommunity call, including local nursing home patients, TBDSupported by an RN Team Leader and dedicated Medical AssistantStrong IT and marketing supportMedical Director ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical leadership and oversight for physician practice providers.Promote quality, safety, and consistency of clinical care.Mentor and support providers and coordinate medical staff education.Participate in practice planning, operations, and strategic initiatives.Collaborate with senior leadership, practice managers, and clinical teams.Develop and implement outpatient clinical policies and workflows.Support provider recruitment and onboarding.Address provider, patient, and staff concerns and facilitate resolution of clinical issues.Monitor provider quality, utilization, productivity, and performance metrics.Lead quality improvement and value-based care initiatives.Serve as the practice EMR superuser and advocate for technology solutions.Support controlled-substance best practices and initiatives addressing social determinants of health.Serve as chair of the physician practices and participate in appropriate medical staff and quality committees.Make periodic site visits to practice locations as needed.Primary Care ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive outpatient primary care.Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.Perform preventive care, wellness visits, and health screenings.Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate specialty referrals.Maintain accurate and timely documentation.Provide approximately 21.5 hours of direct patient care weekly, plus documentation time.QualificationsMD or DOBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal MedicineMinimum 5 years of outpatient primary care experienceStrong clinical leadership and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to mentor and lead providersCollaborative, approachable, and decisive leadership styleStrong ethical standards and professional integrityExcellent problem-solving and organizational skillsStrong computer/EMR skillsInterest in making a long-term commitment to the community preferredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation including productivity incentives$20,000 commencement bonusRetention bonuses in years 2 and 3Up to $19,000 relocation/rental assistanceStudent loan repayment assistance5 weeks vacation + 5 sick daysUp to 6 paid holidays when routinely scheduled1 week CME time + $4,000 CME allowanceComprehensive benefits packageLancaster offers a quiet, close-knit rural community surrounded by the natural beauty of northern New Hampshire.
