Maintenance Lead (1st and 2nd Shift)

PURPOSE:

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for leading/mentoring team of Maintenance Technician’s in inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and troubleshooting machinery and equipment within our production operations throughout their respective shift. The Lead Technician ensures that all maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and timely during their shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads team of Maintenance Technician’s throughout their shift to respond to production equipment/machinery issues.
• Complies with and enforces safety rules and regulations and maintenance of good housekeeping practices.
• Coordinates completion of open preventative and corrective work orders during shift.
• Responsible for keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures, troubleshoots breakdowns, performs preventive maintenance, makes repairs efficiently and effectively to minimize production downtime.
• Continuously performs technical skills assessments for Maintenance Technicians during shift to ensure work is being performed safely and effectively. Provides technical support when needed
• Responsible for training/mentoring Maintenance Technician’s
• Responsible for ensuring downtime/safety escalation procedures are followed throughout their shift
• Assists Maintenance Manager in developing Maintenance Technician’s individual professional development plans
• Works closely with Production Supervisor to meet or exceed daily production goals, and to identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Responsible for generating and sending end-of-shift maintenance report

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5-10 years' experience as industrial maintenance technician and qualified electrical worker (preferred 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing)
• Advanced degree in Engineering preferred
• Must have or obtain a MA Boiler’s License within first year of employment
• Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for leading all maintenance activities during their respective shifts. The Maintenance Lead Technician plays a vital role in developing our overall Maintenance Team capabilities through training and development of Maintenance Technician’s. The Maintenance Lead Technician is accountable for ensuring all safety procedures (LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, etc.), and GMP’s are being followed. The Maintenance Lead Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and collaborates closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient maintenance processes.

Actual pay offered is dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
