Position Overview

We are hiring a Remote Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week temp-to-perm opportunity with a rapidly growing pharmacy operation.

This position combines prescription verification with direct patient engagement. Pharmacists will spend approximately half of their time performing prescription and clinical reviews and the other half providing medication consultations and support to patients by phone.

This is a great opportunity for a Pharmacist who enjoys patient interaction and is comfortable working in a high-volume environment. 

Schedule & Shift Options

The following schedules are available for consideration:

• 8:00 AM–4:00 PM EST
• 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
• 10:00 AM–6:00 PM EST
• 11:00 AM–7:00 PM EST

The pharmacy operates seven days a week, with operating hours between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM EST .

Candidates may provide their preferred shift during the application process. While the team will make every effort to accommodate preferences, a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. 

What You'll Do

• Provide medication counseling and education to patients by telephone.
• Conduct both inbound and outbound calls to address medication-related questions and concerns.
• Counsel patients on new prescriptions, refills, proper medication use, adherence, and potential side effects.
• Review new and refill prescriptions for appropriate dosing, therapeutic considerations, contraindications, and drug interactions.
• Complete pharmacist verification of prescriptions before medications are dispensed.
• Ensure the correct medication, strength, quantity, dosage, and labeling are provided.
• Contact prescribers and their offices when prescription clarification or clinical intervention is needed.
• Assist with receiving, processing, and transferring prescriptions.
• Manage prescription transfers through completion and help resolve issues that may impact timely dispensing.
• Work collaboratively with pharmacy staff and leadership to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Follow all applicable pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy and patient safety in a fast-paced remote environment.

Qualifications

• Active Idaho Pharmacist license required, or willingness to obtain/register for Idaho licensure.
• Candidates may reside anywhere in the United States, provided they meet the Idaho licensure requirement.
• Idaho does not require a law or MPJE examination for pharmacist licensure, which can allow eligible Pharmacists to obtain licensure relatively quickly.
• Previous Pharmacist experience required.
• Retail, specialty, or mail-order pharmacy experience preferred.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable providing frequent patient consultations by phone.
• Strong attention to detail and sound clinical judgment.
• Ability to work independently while remaining connected with a remote pharmacy team.
