About the Position

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Adult Psychiatric Unit (APU) at Memorial Health System of Southwest Oklahoma. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with behavioral and mental health conditions, ensuring safety, therapeutic support, and effective treatment outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for behavioral health patients
• Monitor patients’ mental and physical health status and document findings accurately
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers
• Facilitate patient and family education regarding treatment plans and coping strategies
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and patient confidentiality requirements

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health nursing preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to manage crisis situations and provide compassionate care
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred, if applicable)

• Previous experience in an Adult Psychiatric Unit (APU) or similar setting
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications and therapeutic interventions
• Experience with patient safety protocols and behavioral health regulations

• Inpatient behavioral health setting (APU)
• May require rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
