Urgent Care Physician - Per Diem

Examine and treat patients Take patients’ medical histories Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays Make diagnoses and prescribe medications Treat minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting Record progress notes for follow-up patients Educate and counsel patients Order and/or carry out therapy with patients Give vaccinations and refer patients to additional care Supervise GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented for supervision Act as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs during credentialing, including signoff of delineation of privileges Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Graduate of an accredited medical school required 2–5 years of post-residency clinical experience required Minimum 18 months of experience in an applicable practice setting required Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine Active state medical licensure Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting Applicable office procedures, including suturing and splinting Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills preferred Strong communication and customer service skills preferred Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment, including the ability to perform office procedures such as suturing and splinting. Holds active medical licensure and board certification in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine, with experience in urgent care settings.
