Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse position in Washington, DC. This role involves providing specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU setting. The nurse will be responsible for managing complex clinical situations, including ventilator management, pressors, and other advanced neonatal interventions, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours

• Required Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state/district; NICU experience of at least 2 years; stable with current certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS); must have Level III NICU experience capable of doing vents, oscillators, pressors, and caring for micro preemies.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neonatal emergency response and bedside procedures such as IV insertions, intubations, and parental education.
• Additional Information: The NICU cares for neonates primarily admitted from labor and delivery, ranging from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months old. The unit manages conditions including prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, and more. Responsibilities include assisting with bedside procedures, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing parent teaching. Most diagnostic services are performed bedside.
