Registered Nurse ( Virtual Hospital) Full Time, Night Shift

Avera McKennan Hospital – Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America). The pay range for this position is listed below. Located onsite at Avera McKennan Hospital Campus. Day/Night 12‑hour rotating shifts, every 3rd weekend & holiday. Responsibilities Deliver nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; re‑evaluating care objectives. Review physician prescriptions, communicate the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team, coordinate with other healthcare providers, provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends, and confer with physicians. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instruct patient, family, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care standards; re‑evaluating care objectives; modifying nursing care plan. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhere to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock; stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Perform all essential job functions satisfactorily, including visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Qualifications Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing, an active license in the state of practice upon hire.
