Supply Chain Specialist, Buyer

Plan purchase orders based on inventory levels and sales forecasts to maintain target weeks of stock Collaborate with sales and planning teams to keep demand forecasts accurate in JDE Maintain purchase order delivery dates and analyze MRP-generated messages Interface with suppliers, qualify new suppliers, negotiate prices and payment terms, and place purchase orders Work with internal customers to ensure product specifications and drawings are appropriate Provide documentation to logistics, transportation, and warehouse teams for accurate receipt recording Identify cost-reduction, efficiency-improvement, and risk-management opportunities through negotiations Assess supplier performance and conduct follow-up activities Collaborate with Production Development and Engineering on new product development and sourcing options Serve as the focal contact for commercial matters Evaluate and streamline purchasing processes Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred) 5 years’ experience in procurement and sourcing/logistics, including chemicals, containers, packaging goods, and/or finished product buyouts Experience in an ERP system; JDE preferred Strong PC skills, especially MS Office Suite, Excel, Teams, and MS Project Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Excellent time management and communication skills Ability to handle last-minute priority changes and tight deadlines Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in procurement and sourcing, with a strong focus on inventory management, supplier negotiation, and process optimization. Proficient in utilizing ERP systems like JDE and advanced skills in MS Office Suite to enhance operational efficiency.
