Registered Nurse-Cath Lab, Per Diem, Day Shift

JOB TITLE : Cath Lab RN

REPORTS TO : Cath Lab RN Manager

POSITION SUMMARY : The Cardiac Catheterization RN is a registered nurse with advanced training and knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular system. A Cath Lab nurse performs a variety of duties may include but not limited to; circulating, scrubbing, and monitoring cases for diagnostic and interventional procedures for cardiac, carotid, peripheral, permanent and temporary pacemakers, ICD implants, EP studies, and IABP insertions. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : Graduate of accredited nursing program preferred. BSN preferred. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. A minimum of one year of Cath Lab experience is preferred. IABP, Angiojet and IVUS experience preferred. Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and x-ray equipment preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Current California RN license and BLS required. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire or status change. Basic dysrhythmia within 120 days of hire or status change. RCIS preferred.
