Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) Must-Have: - Nursing - Patient Assessment - Care Planning - Nursing Interventions - Patient Care Procedures Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver. They assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, trends, technology, and available resources. This role is performed within the philosophy of the institution. Essential Functions: Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided. This ensures integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission. Develops an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards. This plan should be based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based on continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety. Reports and/or corrects any safety hazards and incidents. Communicates directly with others to resolve issues when necessary. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to find appropriate solutions. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.
