Intermediate School Math Teacher

The Math Teacher will provide effective learning strategies in order for students to reach their maximum learning potential. They will be directly responsible to the building principal for all matters pertaining to the operation of the school plan, in-building administrative and personnel procedures, and general or district-wide policies. Performance responsibilities include creating a classroom environment that is conducive to the learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students as needed; implementing reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintaining order in a fair and consistent manner; preparing for students assigned, providing adaptations as necessary and showing written evidence of preparation upon request; striving to implement instruction and action the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives; assessing the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and providing necessary communication with parents on an as needed basis; working cooperatively and collaboratively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with special needs; taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities; maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation; assisting administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct; striving to maintain and improve professional competence by attending conferences, workshops, and/or coursework; attending staff meetings and serving on staff committees; demonstrating employee responsibilities in completing duties accurately and promptly; performing such other duties as may be assigned by the building principal; working collaboratively in the classroom with supportive service personnel when it applies; and implementing current curriculum provided by school district. Starting Salary: $51,000.00. Requirement: Illinois Professional Educator License 1st - 6th Grades, Math Endorsement a plus.
