What We Need: We are seeking a skilled Reporter and Broadcast Producer to assist with the creation of material for KFBK programs. Responsibilities may include research and development of news stories, writing scripts for broadcast segments, scheduling and conducting interviews, coordination with talent and producers to find story leads, and serve as point person for fill in needs within the newsroom/station. This is a dynamic role that encompasses many responsibilities within the newsroom/station to help execute daily tasks and assist with key production items. KFBK is a heritage legacy news radio station that has been operating in Sacramento for over 100 years. Our station is a trusted news source and has a strong presence on the air, online and in the community. What You’ll Do: General assignment reporter/anchor: deliver newscasts;announcescripts and audio gathered around selected news events, including traffic, weather,trafficand sports. Conduct interviews and cuts audio segments-Write, review and/or edit news copy, introductions, public service announcements, commercials, pre-recorded reports, contests, etc. Serve as first in line for fill in producing/anchoring/reporting Handle emergencyand/or breaking news Help generate content for social media/digital platforms Maybe responsible foroperating controlboardfor studios and remote programming Monitor the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming frommastercontrol room Check studio equipment for proper functioning andnotifiesEngineering of technical malfunctions affecting quality of the broadcast Protect station’s license Other reporter duties assigned as needed by the news director or station manager What You’ll Need: Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions Pleasant,charismaticand well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciationand professionalism Conformable with live radio programming and being able to deliver information to mass audiences in aneasy-to-understandway Well-rounded communication skills for conducting interviewsand asking the right questions Excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in grammar Proficient in media production and broadcast systems Proficient in Microsoft Office and social networking Work Experience: 1-2 years’ experience as an announcer in smaller market or college station environment Education: 4-year college degree, preferably in Communications or Journalism Certifications: Nonerequired What You’ll Bring: Compensation: Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data. $20.00 - $25.00 Location: Sacramento, CA: 1545 River Park Drive, Suite 500, 95815 Position Type: Regular Time Type: Part time Pay Type: Hourly Benefits: iHeartMedia’s benefits offering is flexible and offers a variety of choices to meet the diverse needs of our changing workforce, including the following: Employer sponsored medical, dental and vision with a variety of coverage options (employees meeting ACA measurement) A 401K plan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no cost – services include telephonic counseling sessions, consultation on legal and financial matters, emotional well-being, family and caregiving A range of additional voluntary programs, such as spending accounts, student loan refinancing, accident insurance and more!
