Survey Party Chief – Tuscaloosa, AL TTL is seeking a Survey Party Chief to support a variety of civil, industrial, environmental and transportation-based projects throughout Alabama. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of a survey crew. The candidate must have a good safety record and be able to communicate effectively with other team members and clients. The ideal candidate has experience operating various types of survey equipment and performing construction staking, boundary survey, ALTA survey and topographic surveys. What You’ll Do Completes field assignments accurately while ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment. Performs the following surveys: boundary, control, topographic, construction layout and staking, environmental mapping, GPS/GIS surveys, and land surveying. Completes the field work by performing the administrative functions to include all computations, reduction of field notes, maintaining records, contacting clients, etc. Requirements 5+ years of experience as Survey Crew Chief or a degree in Mapping, Surveying, GIS or a Geospatial field. Proficient in the use of GPS, Robotic Total Station and data collectors. H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Ability to work in all types of weather and field conditions Ability to work outside typical daily 8 am to 5 pm hours Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays Basic computer skills for time, expense and field data entry Professional communication skills, both oral and written, read and interpret survey maps and construction plans Job Type: Full-time This position is subject to a pre-employment drug and motor vehicle record check.
