Overview West Virginia location. The professional registered nurse has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the nursing process. The RN accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge and independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to whom care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes. The RN must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care relevant to the patient under their care and apply growth and development principles over the life span. The RN must assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient\'s requirements relative to age-specific needs. The RN, Staffing Solutions, will be a full time employee of WVU Medicine and will be placed on assignment at any of our system hospitals and/or clinics. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care within a designated shift, based on the nursing process and within scope of practice. Use independent nursing judgment and collaborate with the health care team to deliver quality patient care and optimize outcomes. Apply standards of care and practice to guide care delivery and document patient responses and plans. Engage in performance improvement activities and mentor others to promote professional development. Coordinate and provide comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, nursing interventions, and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team approach. Delegate patient care tasks appropriately and provide follow-up for completion and patient response. Adapt priorities based on patient acuity and available resources and update the daily care plan accordingly. Communicate effectively with the patient, family, and health care team to support safe practice and patient outcomes. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Current unencumbered multi-state Registered Nurse License through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) or current unencumbered RN license and must obtain eNLC within 3 months of hire; if primary state of residence is not part of ENLC, must obtain RN licenses in MD, PA, OH, and WV within 3 months of hire. Certification in Basic Life Support upon hire. State criminal background check and federal check as required for regulated areas. 18 months of clinical RN experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) or completion of BSN within 5 years of hire date.
